Yusuf El Masry

Yusuf is an architect and architectural photographer based in Cairo, Egypt. His journey with photography began at the age of 10, capturing moments with a family film camera. Fascinated by visual storytelling, he later received a digital camera, deepening his passion. Initially drawn to landscapes as he loves to travel, his perspective evolved through his architectural studies, naturally leading him to architectural photography.

Yusuf’s work is defined by his ability to see beyond the obvious. He focuses on details, relationships, and compositions that might not be immediately apparent. His approach often abstracts elements, revealing unexpected beauty in the built environment. This distinct vision earned him first place in an architectural photography competition organized by SYNC School at District 5.

Through his photography, Yusuf strives to tell a story or evoke a feeling, emphasizing the beauty in simple details. For him, photography is more than documentation—it’s about capturing the soul of a space.
